Mark Chapman

Mark Chapman is the chief engineer of the Bloodhound project, a British-led collaboration using a 1,000mph World Land Speed Record attempt to inspire the next generation to get involved in STEM subjects. His supersonic car, which will be driven by Wing Commander Andy Green, a former pupil of Bydales School in Marske, will be powered by both a jet engine and a rocket, which together will produce 135,000 horsepower – more than six times the power of all the Formula 1 cars on a starting grid put together.
